Look out Bridget Jones!
When Melissa Romney-Jones becomes “redundant” at yet another job, she begins to assess what she is really good at…and what she is not. When an opportunity presents itself through an old schoolmate, she decides to take the chance on a somewhat more elusive career path. Through the necessity to be discrete and the desire to maintain some distance from the more down-to-earth Melissa, Honey is born.
Melissa learns quickly, however, that “Honey” is in way over her head and soon finds herself in a “knock out” career-ending situation. She soon finds herself, quite by accident, well and, partially to drive her flatmate a little wild, developing a new little business of her own. When her previous employer hires her to put together a party for the opening of the new offices and the arrival of the new American agents (hence her redundancy), she decides this is a job for Honey. Not only does she put on a knock-out party, she snags a new knock-out client. As business begins to soar at The Little Lady Agency, things begin to get complicated as the lines between Melissa and Honey begin to collide.
The Little Lady Agency is guaranteed to delight. In true Brit lit fashion, it will have you laughing, dreaming, and looking for the diva within. A story of romance, adventure, family conflict, and inner turmoil, The Little Lady Agency has it all. Browne has an intriguing way of leading the reader in one direction then sweeping them off in another. Pull up your stockings, don those stilettos, and enjoy the ride…
