If you are in the mood for a steamy, erotic, witty love story with a touch of the paranormal to boot, Erin McCarthy is just what the doctor ordered. A Date With the Other Side is chick-lit with an edge. This delightfully sinful story of a down-home country girl and the big-city boy she snags will have you laughing even as you fan yourself to cool off from the heat.

Shelby Tucker is a backwoods beauty who hasn’t had a date in three years. She spends her days conducting tours of the haunted locales in her hick town, one of which is her grandmother’s rental cottage. Then she stumbles on a gorgeous naked man lying on the bed of her granny’s rental cottage, and her whole life takes a spin on Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. The man, Boston Macnamara, is everything she is not – he’s city all the way, a professional man with money, sophistication and a corporate title. But when Boston lays eyes on curvy, natural Shelby, and when a few cantankerous ghosts decide to step in and play matchmaker, it isn’t long before country mouse and city mouse are playing house together.

McCarthy, the author of Smart Mouth and Bad Boys Online, combines good storytelling with humor, natural characters, and dead-on dialog to create a romance that is heavy on the sex, but with an underlying sweetness women will swoon for. And Boston isn’t too bad himself as he teaches Shelby that opposites can indeed attract.
