Somewhere in Washington State near the Canadian border, Navy SEAL Hawk Mackenzie is on a highly classified mission to locate "Princess", subject of a top–secret government project who has been viciously snatched away from under the guard of seasoned FBI agents. After a hard day’s work and with a storm unleashing its full force, Hawk returns to his hotel room only to find a beautiful woman showering there. At first Hawk is certain she’s one of the bad guys, but Jess Mulcahey is no criminal - rather she’s a terrified hotel investigator who rapidly realizes she’s inadvertently caught up in something far bigger.

Not knowing whether it's the experimental medicines he is taking or Jess’ caring nature, Mackenzie is unable to deny the powerful feelings that Jess arouses in him so easily. For her part, Jess finds Hawk to be an oddly compelling and irresistible mix of arrogant male and gruff sensitivity. They come together in passion, but their lives, attitudes and careers are poles apart, and reluctantly they part ways. But when circumstances put Jess right in the sight of danger, both Hawk and Jess are forced to take unprecedented actions and decisions. Will these two troubled individuals ever find love and peace together?

This second installment in the "Code Name" series by Christina Skye features Jess, twin sister of FBI agent Summer Mulcahey, who starred in the previous book, Code Name: Nanny. In her usual fashion, Skye infuses mind-blowing suspense in the narrative from the very first page and sustains it with relentless gusto until the climactic end. Breathtaking action combined deftly with growing sensuality and numerous conflicts both internal and between characters adds depth, drama and danger.

The character of Jess in particular will intrigue readers with her pains and problems and the courage with which she deals with all the sudden, unexpected changes brought in the wake of Hawk’s entrance in her life. Max is equally intriguing, with conflicting emotions and a keen sense of duty that wage a internal war inside him rendering him moody, dangerous and very sexy. Izzy, that omnipresent computer guru from the previous book, plays a more active role in this one, and it’s to be hoped this sexy guy will soon get to star in a book of his own. Overall, a skillful combination of suspense, comprehensive characterizations and hot, steamy sex make for a highly intriguing story.
