Paige Darlington is Satan’s newest Favorite Rivka. Or at least she would be if she weren’t so darn nice. Unfortunately, she’s been cursed – she takes the soul of anything she touches (even grass!) and it becomes a pile of ash. As if the threat of killing her loved ones by accident isn’t enough, every time Paige takes a soul, the wraith inside of her gains power. The more souls she takes, the more she becomes a killer demon – which would put a damper on her nice spirit.
Jed Buchanan is one of the last gatekeepers of the portals to Hell. He’s also been hired by Satan, Jr., to work as his assassin. It’s not his number-one choice of a job, but he’s doing it because Satan Jr. is holding his brother’s life in the balance.
Paige enlists Jed’s help – she just wants him to touch her. When he places his hands on her, she has a better chance to control the inner wraith. She can touch him because his soul is so dark, there’s nothing for the wraith to feed on. What’s more is that when Satan Jr. finds out who Paige is, he orders Jed to force her to work for him, or kill her if she won’t. Together they agree to defeat Satan Jr. and find a way to keep the wraith from turning her into a demon.
This fourth installment in Rowe’s “Immortally Sexy” series once again picks up where the last one left off. Paige is still the perky, eager-to-learn rivka that she was last time around. Satan is still hilarious, and Satan Jr. is still power hungry and crazy. Stephanie Rowe’s strength is in creating characters who are, literally, perfectly matched. Here, Jed is the only person Paige can touch without turning to dust. Likewise, Paige’s upbeat personality keeps Jed from becoming even more depressed at how his life has turned out. Sex & the Immortal Bad Boy is a wild ride, and fans and newcomers to the series alike will definitely enjoy this one!
