Lust, Loathing and a Little Lip Gloss is another delicious read from the author
who has brought you other sinfully sumptuous titles - Sex, Murder, and a Double Latte and
Obsession. Deceit, and Really Dark Chocolate. Kyra Davies does it again in her latest, in which Sophie Katz unexpectedly finds her dream house in the San Franciscan hills - and it's priced way below market value!.
What's the catch? Sophie really doesn't care as she spies the two-car garage, and especially after she walks over the freshly
installed hardwood floors. When her ex-husband, Scott, tells her that the owner has a condition
set on her buying the house, Sophie is a little skeptical, but she will do anything to own her very first home
- and in such a prime location, too.
Then the owner of the house is found dead in the upstairs master bedroom. Things go from bad to worse when Sophie meets the members of the
Secret Specter Society and pretends that she can talk to the dead.
To exacerbate things, she has promised her sexy Russian private eye boyfriend that she will stay away from anything having to do with this murder investigation. But what's a girl to do when the investigation is centered
solely on where you live and suspects are dying all around you?
Lust, Loathing and a Little Lip Glosss is the fourth Sophie novel to date and
another one you can't put down from this California-born author. I love reading these books, but
I'm a little disappointed that Davies doesn't even touch on Sophie's multi-cultural background or delve into Anatoly's past more. Maybe in an upcoming book?
