Imagine being married to the perfect husband - handsome, successful, adores his wife and family. Then imagine that perfect husband meets the perfect temptress and begins a hot, torrid affair that is sure to not end well.
Thus is the meaty stuff of The Adultery Club, a riveting and hard-to-put-down story of three people entwined in a passionate dance of love, lust and betrayal. Told from all three lead characters’ points of view – the wife, the husband, and the other woman – this is not your ordinary beach read. It really gets down and dirty into the pleasures and pitfalls of giving into desires better left alone.
Author Tess Stimson is quite adept at presenting all sides of this triangular affair, even the male side. It’s hard to tell you are reading a “woman writer” as she shows how easy it is for men and women alike to seek better and greener pastures, only to find out the lawn they had at home was quite nice and much less destructive.
The Adultery Club is a fast read and quite titillating to be sure, but it truly goes one step beyond to present an honest and realistic portrayal of adultery – the good, the bad and the ugly.
