Journey to Enlightenment by Ross Bishop is a bit of a challenge for the average reader, even for those of us who have a modicum of familiarity with the challenges of “New Age” suggestions. I have never quite understood quantifying some ideas that are based on ancient precepts, and this book is a great argument for changing the category of such advanced learning. Perhaps “Ancient Knowledge Rediscovered” would be more accurate title.
Bishop presents his lifetime of learning in a readable and an (eventually) understandable way. I say eventually because some concepts will require reader participation in self-examination - I know, I know, it made me cringe a bit at first, too. However, if you are patient and give these simple yet insightful exercises a chance, you can truly understand and love yourself more than you ever have before.
Obviously if you are reading this review, you are an open-minded person, which is good. The mere mention of past lives can make less, ahem, receptive individuals run screaming in the opposite direction.
While Journey to Enlightenment may take a bit more work on your part than most self-help or religious books, if you hang on to the core of the premise “love everything,” you will find yourself blessed by this book. The closing I use on my email and voicemail is very apropos to end this review: Namaste - “the light in me, salutes the light in you.”
