Tony Iommi, the guiding light behind the legendary Black Sabbath, talks about his life with Ozzy and what it was like to be the guitar player in one of the most influential rock bands of all time. Many books have been written about Black Sabbath, but this one comes from the horse's mouth
and sheds light on moments only Tonio was privy to.
One of the oft-told tales is how Iommi lost the fingertips on his right hand. It happened the very day he was going to quit his job as a machinist.
He was placed on a different machine; his mind wandered for one brief second, and the next minute two of his fingertips were lying on the sheet metal in front of him.
Tony discusses working with Ronnie Dio in heaven and Hell and the many ways Dio
differed from Ozzy. There are tales of excess on the road and his long battle with drugs and alcohol. This certainly needs to be read by any Black Sabbath fan. As much as there is, one can just imagine how much Tony left out - maybe that will come in Volume
Two.
