Nick Rawlings is one of the last of the Markku, a special race created by Satan to do his bidding. Decades ago, Nick’s grandfather led a revolt against Satan and taught the other Markku how to break free from Satan’s power. Breaking away from Satan’s power, however, made the Markku mortal, and now there are barely any left. Nick can’t let anyone know what he really is for fear that Satan will find out and make the Markku race truly extinct.
Becca Gibbs is Satan’s favorite Rivka, not only because of her ruthlessness but because if anyone can find a loophole to carrying out Satan’s orders, it’s Becca. She can’t stand being under Satan’s power any longer and is desperate to find a way to break free of him. When Nick approaches Becca seeking help in saving his sister’s life, she agrees to help him in return for information on how to free herself from Satan’s grasp.
It seems, though, that the only way to save Nick’s sister is to kill Satan, and Becca’s not going to let that happen - not because she has an undying affection for him, but because if he dies, she dies. Together, Nick and Becca must find a way to each get what they so desperately want. What they don’t expect is to find in each other what they both need.
He Loves Me, He Loves Me Hot is the third installment in Stephanie Rowe’s sexy paranormal series. Set shortly after the events in Must Love Dragons, this story advances plot lines begun in the earlier books. While the book stands alone quite well, readers will enjoy it best if they are already familiar with many of the cast of characters. Satan Jr. is back and manages to wreak havoc despite being frozen in a block of ice. Paige, Becca’s apprentice, provides much of the story’s comic relief as she learns about what it takes to be Satan’s favorite Rivka. Becca and Nick are thoroughly engaging; it’s been a long time since I’ve read a romance where the leading couple were so perfectly matched.
