Cats deserve ear massages and the health care that comes with feline domestication, but Fluffy and Bonkers cringe when they think about the life of a pampered housecat. There is no glory in being a cat today. All cats do now is eat, sleep, and use their litter box. Fluffy and Bonkers think it’s time cats lose their lazy ways and get in touch with their suppressed wild side. The Devious Book for Cats contains over two hundred pages of advice, stories, and secret information to help today’s cat shed the sedentary lifestyle for one full of self-rule and adventure.

The Devious Book for Cats contains information to help the cat that fell in the fish tank, the cat that likes to lick the shower curtain dry, and the starving cat that’s having problems waking its owner. For the cat that needs motivation to live its nine lives or a role model of the feline persuasion, The Devious Book for Cats also contains stories of inspiration and bravery. Ziggy, Gracie Mae and Miracle are stowaway cats that lived lives of adventure, and Catbert, Bill the Cat, and Heathcliff are three cats well-known in the entertainment industry.

Three to six pages in length, each of the fifty-four topics in this book is illustrated with black-and-white drawings of cats being funny or demonstrating tricky maneuvers. In "Secrets of Daredevil Cats," a cat shows how it’s able to land on its feet, and in "Extraordinary Cats in History Part 1," readers are introduced to Fred, a badge-wearing undercover cat, and Alice, a guitar-playing cat.

Fluffy and Bonkers researched many subjects so they could answer questions the average housecat may have like, what’s in the closet or the cupboards, and the proper way to hunt fruit flies and spiders. Although the information in this book is aimed at cats, cat owners can learn from it, too. They’ll find out why “the suck monster” is so terrifying to many cats, and why some cats like to rush out of their litter box when finished. Although Fluffy and Bonkers can do a lot, this book couldn't have been written without the help of their five co-authors (who have been praised for their work on The Dangerous Book for Dogs: A Parody). Together, they remind us why cats are so fantastic and fun to have around!
