A Yale graduate, Jonathan Edwards became a senior pastor at the tender age of twenty-one and went on to become the leader who spearheaded the Great Awakening from 1740-1741. He was a multi-accomplished man whose writings on such important and influential subjects as ethics and psychology are still relevant today.
As part of the “Leaders in Action” series, A Divine Light makes an interesting and informative read, although it is lacking in emotion and passion - although considering Edwards contributions to theology, the lack of passion lies within the writing and not within the man himself.
Despite being a slow read, this is a good book for those who are dedicated to furthering their knowledge of religious leaders. However, those with
only a passing curiosity and interest will probably want to pass this one by.
