Brandon Vale is a career thief, among the best, until he is imprisoned over a diamond
heist gone bad. Beyond his background, he is quick-witted, and charming as well, master-minding a plan with Richard Scanlon, a retired FBI Special Agent, who springs Brandon from prison.
Their quest is to first, relieve $200 million from the transport of money from Las Vegas
to the federal reserve, and secondly, use the money to purchase 12 nuclear missiles from
the Ukrainians, thus the warheads would be removed from underground marketing and
rest safely in the United States (the U.S. government believes these missiles are a myth).
The team that is assembled, all formerly government operatives, all members being chosen by Scanlon, is led by the beautiful Catherine Juarez,. The choice given Brandon is simple, help Scanlon and hope to live through it, or turn himself in and accept the consequences of having “escaped”.
As the day for the exchange approaches, Brandon’s carefully constructed plans begin to break down and he suspects the elaborate double-cross he’s devised to save himself could
cause millions of deaths. He finally has to ask himself just how far he’s willing to be dragged into a game he can only lose.
This all too possible narrative, as current as today’s headlines, Kyle Mills draws
us into his skillfully writtten and fast-paced novel that will appeal to large audiences.
