OK, I know it’s not nice to pick on presidents, living or dead, but hey, it’s downright FUN (and perfectly patriotic) when you read a book like The George W. Bush Quiz Book by Paul Slansky. Slansky, the author of the bestseller The Clothes Have No Emperor about the life of Reagan, offers up a hilarious quiz book sure to rile up the Rovians, featuring hundreds of questions with answers so easy, even G.W. himself could get a passing grade - with a little help from Daddy, of course.

Using thorough research and scathing wit, Slansky covers the personal and political life of G.W. Bush with questions about the man, his Cabinet, his college years, and his presidency. Nothing is sacred as questions cover the gaffes, fumbles, bumbles and slip-ups made by our illustrious, if linguistically challenged, president. Some of the questions even reveal how others see Bush, such as Nancy Reagan’s labeling of the Prez-in-Residence as “the village idiot” and “Little George,” as well as the many goofy quotes offered during press conferences that solidified Bush’s place in moron history. Remember his description of newly elected Mexican Prez Vicente Fox as “a man I know from Mexico?” Or his reference towards Africa as “an important continent?”

We also get some interesting tidbits about Dick Cheney, Laura Bush, John Ashcroft and a host of other W-clubbers, all in the form of questions about the 2000 election fiasco, the Cheney-Halliburton links, the Bush/Cheney DUI arrests, and of course, the Iraq war and surrounding scandals. In fact, this highly informative book could almost be considered an Idiot’s Guide to an Idiot. Hey, I’m just quoting Nancy Reagan here!

The questions aren’t always funny, especially when you realize they are a true depiction of the state of our nation and the mental state of the men and women running it. Many questions are meant to educate and enlighten, providing little known facts and figures few voters ever consider when choosing the man they want to call “fearless leader.” Truly telling is one question in particular:

What did George W. Bush say on ABC’s 20/20?
