Just looking at the cover shot of fitness trainer Wini Linguvic on her new book Lean, Long & Strong is enough to get you motivated to get up and work that body. She is as lean, long and strong as they come. In her new six-week program, Linguvic, author of the bestselling BodyChange, promises that same powerful physique and total body makeover to women who seek real results but who don’t have the luxury of an hour a day and an expensive personal trainer.

The program is based upon Linguvic’s many years of experience working with clients as one of New York’s most sought-after personal trainers and fitness consultants. She has developed a program that combines working with weights, stretching and cardio to sculpt, lengthen and shape muscles and shed body fat in just twelve minutes a day. Full-color photographs show the exercises, broken down into easy-to-follow steps with plenty of descriptions on how to do each one right at the beginning and advanced levels, and most do not require anything more than an exercise ball, a mat and some dumbbells. Linguvic’s program is unique because of her “synergy sets” - groupings of exercises that are designed to be done together for maximum benefits.

The program breaks down the workouts for each body part – upper, lower, core basics, and also features some motivational and dieting information, because exercise alone is not enough. The approach throughout promotes common-sense eating, proper breathing, exercising at your own specific heart rate, stretching for maximum benefits, and combining mind/body elements for overall health and well-being. There are training logs throughout, and a food journal that can be photocopied and used to keep track of dieting habits.

What really makes this particular exercise guide stand out amidst a sea of such books on the market are the awe-inspiring photos of the author doing each exercise. Her body is so tight and strong that it inspires and motivates even the laziest person on earth (me!) to want to get up and lift and stretch. The fact that everything is explained in such detail means that you can avoid injuries that often result from overstretching or using the wrong muscles, and the holistic approach to taking care of your body assures greater results and satisfaction.

There are so many diet and exercise programs out there, some promising astonishing results in just minutes per day. But Lean, Long & Strong really delivers on the tools and techniques needed to make that dream a reality. The author is proof of that, in full, living color. All you need is the desire, a few inexpensive items, the right attitude, and twelve minutes a day. Oh, and this book.
