Using their own experiences, Philip Gulley and James Mulholland explain how people are not turning to God because each religion/church believes there is no interpretation of the scripture but their own - you must be heterosexual, you must be a certain race to fit in at a certain church, women must be subservient to men. Is it any wonder that people are staying away from organized religion in droves?
Gulley and Mulholland admit their own previously culpability in perpetuating such pap. They use stories from the people they have ministered to that illustrate the point that God is about inclusion. They have the strength of character to admit that history does not make a practice right.
If Grace is True is an important book that can radically change organized religion and open it up to everyone as God intended in the first place. Please read this book, pass it on to the leaders and members of your church. Change begins with admitting that it is necessary.
