What an enjoyable book! I didn't really know what to expect as I started reading What Goes Around, but it ended up being great fun and at times thought-provoking.
What Goes Around follows five women, members of a self-help group who are shocked by the death of one of their
own. Polly, Kate, Charlotte, Dinah and Justine believe the death was foul play and quickly discover three men they believe
are responsible. Vowing to get their revenge, they set about investigating the
suspects' lives to find their weak spots.
What could have been a rather distasteful concept (seeking vengeance) is actually very well-written and
even heartwarming. Each woman possesses different skills and influences, and we watch one of them in a gentle romance as the others find new zest for life or ideas for the future. Although the characters
are generally well developed, I occasionally found it difficult to distinguish between Dinah and Charlotte,
and one or two plot improbabilities stand out as a little too convenient. Overall,
though, this is an excellently-written and interesting romantic thriller.
