Jasmine Larson Bush, the protagonist in Victoria Christopher Murray’s Temptation, A Sin and a Shame, and her latest, Too Little, Too Late, is one of those characters readers love to hate. She’s sneaky, conniving and scandalous, but as she attempts to put her evil ways behind her and be the woman and wife God wants her to be, you can’t help cheering her on.
In Too Little, Too Late, she’s back, and so is her drama.
Jasmine is a master at lies and schemes, so when her husband’s ex-fiancée from years ago comes to town, Jasmine is hip to her game. She does not believe for one minute that the ex is only in town for business. And, because Jasmine has worked so hard to become Mrs. Bush, she’ll do anything to keep it that way.
Meanwhile, there is trouble in paradise for another married couple, Brian and Alexis Lewis. Alexis is Jasmine’s former friend and Brian, well, he and Jasmine are also sexually acquainted. But as long as Jasmine, Hosea and their daughter are in New York and Brian and Alexis are in California, there’s no problem. Or is there?
Author Victoria Christopher Murray is a gifted storyteller. She writes about complex, flawed characters and presents Christian perspective while weaving interesting tales. With Too Little, Too Late, she doesn’t disappoint. While this book is the third in a series, you don’t have to read the others to know what’s happening. It stands alone and is good to the last page.
