But Montoyo cannot believe she is guilty of Luke's death, especially since he died with a young college student. What at first appears to be a murder-suicide is quickly proven to be a double murder - and they are only the first in the string of murders of unrelated victims. In the story's romantic edge, Abby and Montoyo share a strong attraction for each other, but their feelings come under pressure from the past and current deaths.

Lisa Jackson writes a tightly constructed thriller that does not give up its secrets until the final pages. The setting of Our Lady of Virtues Mental Hospital used lends the novel its suspense and atmosphere. This is the fourth book featuring the character of Reuben Montoyo, so Jackson fans will be pleased with his latest developments.
