This book felt a little tired to me. Maybe it wasn't the book, maybe it was me, but the many series books I've waded through recently all seem to be merging into one. Unfortunately, Rapture Untamed
possesses nothing which might enable it to stand out. Even the silly names of the various heroes (Jag, Tighe, Lyon) seem to echo
those in J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood.
The plot itself is reasonable, with morose hero Jag attracted to Olivia, a woman who hiding a dark secret. When Jag
uncovers it, he realizes that he cares for her and doesn't want her to face the consequences of her situation. But Olivia's power
is potentially dangerous, and the Feral Warriors may find her to be their biggest nightmare - but can she help Jag recover from his own nightmares of
the responsibility he bears for the death of his mother?
The most interesting aspect of the book is Olivia's secret and how it affects the way she lives her life. She
is an appealing character, although I can't say that I particularly liked Jag. The book overall doesn't stand out in any way, and it
is less than a page-turner.
