As the title suggests, this isn't just about playing the mouth harp. The author, famous columnist Dave Barry's younger brother,
takes the harmonica and uses it as a touchstone in living your life to the fullest
- a bit simplistic, but there are worse how-to books out there.
Read the book, learn the harmonica, and have a happier life. The musical instrument, according to Barry, has many benefits, including
- Being a self-contained pomposity-reducing unit
- Keeping you from thinking too much about all the world's bad news
- It goes with any outfit
- It can make train sounds
And, well, you get the idea. The actual music lessons for learning the harp are pretty standard but work. Will learning the harmonica change your life? Maybe, but probably not. At the very least,
though, you might get a couple of laughs from reading this, and a chuckle or two is never a bad thing.
