Bordowitz has gathered some of the most salient and penetrating interviews ever written about Led Zeppelin and put them all between two covers. There are over 50 conversations here from print, television and radio dating back to a story from
Go! Magazine called "Jimmy Page Is Just Wild About Led Zeppelin" through a 2012 television interview conducted by Anthony Mason and Charles Osgood.
This collection provides an insight into the band--guitarist Jimmy Page, singer Robert Plant, bassist/keyboardist John Paul Jones, and now-deceased drummer John Bonham--from the group itself. Everything is covered here from the quartet's earliest days, tours, and albums
to the band's reunion.
There are some wonderful interviews here from Q magazine, Melody Maker and
NME, but noticeably missing are any interviews dealing with Zeppelin as musicians. There are many outstanding interviews published in
Guitar Player and Guitar World magazine that have been omitted. Also, there are no interviews from 1977 and 1978.
Still, just about everything you'd want to know about the band is here, and
what better place to get that information than from the group itself?
