According to renowned clairvoyant and The Power of Karma author Mary T. Browne, "karma" is the powerful ancient law of cosmic cause and effect: your actions in past lifetimes can determine your present. What it basically means is that one should do good deeds and think good thoughts in this life to reap the benefits in the future and/or next life; ditto for the bad. This, however hinges on one pivotal tenet, which is that of reincarnation. Until you believe that you will be reincarnated, and that the effects of your current life’s actions will carry through to the next, the theory of karma holds no good. Browne claims to read a person’s aura and their Akashic records -- i.e. their past lives -- just by looking at them. She gives many detailed examples of this, from experiences she’s had with her varied clientele.
Browne's book also explains in detail the widespread effects that karma can have on various aspects of our life, on health, sex, money, etc. She gives copious examples of Karma and how it has boomeranged in good and bad ways with her past clients and affirms that ignorance of karma is no excuse. The typical mind control methods such as having a positive attitude, thinking pleasant thoughts, practicing forgiveness, patience and charity, etc., are suggested to achieve a balance that will result in accumulating good karma. Although you cannot alter the past, you can definitely affect the present and impact one’s future lives.
On the whole, The Power of Karma makes for pretty interesting reading. Browne illustrates her topics with live case studies and examples from her actual clients, enabling the reader to not only understand the topic but also relate to them. The reader may or may not come away as a believer in karma, reincarnation, or psychics, but the book certainly will have an impact on them in that it most probably make them think twice before saying, thinking, or doing anything. In that way, at least, this book is certainly effective.
