There are dozens, if not hundreds, of books on the market about finding love, loving yourself first, raising self-esteem, and all of the very things Julia J. Austin writes about in her book It Starts With You!. Many of those books are written by professionals who have studied the science of love (when did it become a science?), and others are just people who have found their soulmates and come up with some interesting steps to helping others do the same.

Austin’s book combines a bit of the two, as she does have a background in psychology and stress management therapy, and she has found her soulmate, we will assume. Her book offers very simple steps one can take to find inner self-love, then project that outward to attract real love. The book is not as extensive or detailed as others I’ve read, and it does delve into a very Christian outlook on life now and then, but it does provide helpful and solid advice in a warm and engaging style.

I recommend this book for those looking for love in all the right places. While I enjoyed the content, I found it lacking in many ways, and in others a repetition of information seen in other books on the market. Still, I liked the author’s style and I can recommend it for those who want just a touch more woman-to-woman lowdown on how to be the best person to attract the best person. It makes sense and will certainly add a positive light on any situation when it comes to finding the greatest love of all, and the one person out there who will love you the way you deserve to be loved.
