If only we could tie George W. Bush to a chair and read Iraq: The Logic of Withdrawal until the glaring truth sinks into his brain (oh, wait, that’s Karl Rove - right?). Arnove has the guts and, yes, patriotism to set forth the facts about the Iraq war debacle and raises a call to disarm the xenophobic tyranny of our invasion of a sovereign nation.
Perhaps seeing an unbiased account of the sheer lunacy of the supposed “democratic Iraq” in black and white may just save lives. With the lack of cause for invasion and subsequent lack of preparation, mismanagement of soldiers, equipment and blatant disregard for human rights (ironic since our supposed mission is to free the Iraqi’s from dictatorship) in the tragic and nauseating Abu Ghraib abuse of America’s constitution as well as the laughably titled Patriot Act (can you say McCarthyism?), Arnove makes the case for getting the heck out of Dodge - NOW!
Anyone who loves America should read this book. Once having done so, anyone who has a conscience will fight the good fight to bring our soldiers home.
