The top-secret medical sciences pursued within the government’s military branches have thus far been kept under the watchful eye of many good, morally strong leaders determined at stopping, or requiring further research, of any project deemed still unsafe for human trial or use.

Clancy McRae is one of the government’s most valuable civilian scientists, bringing forth nanotechnology that would, when research and tests prove safe compatibility, create technologically enhanced military troops with skills, strengths, and physical capabilities far exceeding even the most superior human comparables. Her creation is a medical and scientific marvel, but the evaluation results on orangutan test subjects create enough concern for Clancy to request further extensions on time for research.

If the technology were introduced into human hosts without the full analysis of its development within the subject over a steady length of time, the lives of those implanted with it could be sent spiraling toward a horrific demise. The discovery of a group of unknown human test subjects in whom Clancy’s superiors implanted the technology bring Clancy’s faith in her creation and the people she works with screeching to a halt.

On the run from crazed drug lords and in her pursuit of a classified crash site and the technologically enhanced super-troopers, Clancy McRae finds herself an enemy of the United States while facing the perilous jungles and peoples of South America. Luckilyy for her, Spec Ops leader Mike Gannon is also on the prowl for the classified crash site and willing to believe her when she details the life-threatening situation in which her technology has placed the lives of his men.

His rescue mission has taken on a whole new meaning, but so has the developing danger to their lives as they get closer to the site and uncover amazing facts about the jungle. The levels of deception continue to whirl as the reality behind the crash and the disappearance of the soldiers unravels further insights.

The hot and humid atmosphere of the South American jungle grows steamier as attraction and passion between Clancy and Mike mounts. This unexpected twist, while enticing and hard to resist, proves to be a motivating force in their continued fight against a situation that seems desperately unbeatable. Life is no more valuable now than it was prior to meeting each other, but the fate of the world now rests in their hands as deadliest terrorist plans comes to light in the hidden realm of an ancient menace. Is there enough time to prevent the impending disaster?

Two thumbs way up to Amy Fetzer and Intimate Danger, with its edge-of-your seat plot filled with the perfect balance of suspense, danger, action, deception, and mystery. Along with the steamy jungle setting and erotic interludes, what more could a reader ask for? Fetzer’s numerous storylines run smoothly and give the reader a much better perception of the progressing situation as whole, while still maintaining the mystery of an evolving danger yet unknown to the main protagonists and readers. The mysteries are artfully and satisfactorily done to the high standards set from the novel’s beginning.
