Bandalism is a humorously down-and-dirty guide to starting a rock band and existing among the ever-shifting parametershow of the business. No longer can you just pick up a guitar, surround yourself with several buddies on bass, drums, and vocals, and start playing music. Today, you need to know how to maneuver out on the digital ocean - MySpace, iTunes, et al.

Some of the info here includes:

  • Picking cool band names
  • Sucking up to a good lawyer
  • Being wary of "musicians wanted" ads

This is a how-to guide to becoming a rock star. Even after reading it - and even memorizing every word of it - chances are you'll never go out on a major tour or appear in a big-time video. But that's okay. At least you'll laugh at all the insanity involved in achieving this goals and maybe, if you're crazy and persistent enough, you might just open up on the next U2 tour.

You'll never know unless you read Bandalism.
