Eons ago on the planet of Harmony, colonists from Earth discovered that somehow the planet magnified their intrinsic paranormal abilities to a significant degree. Lydia Smith, a trap-tangler, is still on a quest to discover what exactly happened to her while working in the alien ruins in the catacombs beneath the city of Cadence that caused her to lose her memory -- as well as her job as a para-archaeologist. Trouble seems to follow Lydia as she discovers yet another dead body while her new boyfriend, Emmett, dons the dangerous mantle of temporary Guild boss, a profession Lydia holds in low esteem. While Emmett and Lydia struggle to maintain a normal relationship despite constant emotional and physical trials, someone very powerful is determined to cause trouble for both of them.

Writing under the pseudonym of "Jayne Castle," established author Jayne Ann Krentz continues to fascinate readers with yet another intriguing tale from the planet of Harmony. Ghosts, dust-bunnies, cults, devious business tactics, assassination attempts, addictions, alien traps and illusions – all combined with raw sexual energy and uninhibited paranormal abilities -- serve to make After Glow sizzle with imagination and non-stop entertainment.

Lydia and Emmett are characters continued from previous tale, After Dark, and while their relationship is already established, it can’t be considered stable by any means. Once again the alien ruins provide plenty of temptation and danger to this intrepid couple as they head on two separate quests which somehow converge in the glowing green passageways of the Dead City. Characterizations are wonderfully conflicted and interesting, while the plot is devious, to say the least. Plenty of suspense, a healthy dose of romance and passion together with Krentz’s trademark mesmerizing story-telling abilities, make After Glow a truly pleasurable read.
